When Growth Isn’t Enough

“Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for…” Hebrews 11:1 (AMPC)

This week, as we fast and pray, we are building spiritual muscle – stretching our faith, deepening our trust, and seeking divine direction. Many of us are asking God for growth: in our careers, our families, our finances, our ministries. And that’s good. But what if growth isn’t enough?

You see, God doesn’t just want us to grow – He wants us to move. Every person Jesus healed was sent off to live differently. The blind man was told to go wash. The leper was told to show himself to the priest. The paralytic was told to pick up his mat and walk. Faith doesn’t stop at asking – it acts.

Let me share three testimonies that illustrate this:

  1. Faith in Preparation

Years ago, I applied for a job. Long before I got it, I showed up daily on the company’s website, learning the ecosystem, preparing for the interview, and the role. That job became mine by God’s grace. I’m still thriving in it. Faith moved me to prepare as if the door were already open.

  1. Faith in Crisis

One of our sons underwent two emergency surgeries in five days. He also had to reduce water intake, walk (even in pain), and measure his fluids hourly. Through these acts and the collective prayers of our family and the FAOGW community, he was discharged miraculously after fourteen days. God answered. But the story didn’t end there.

  1. Faith in Testimony

Months later, another young man in our fellowship faced a similar health scare. Because of what we had seen God do, we could speak with confidence and pray with boldness. Our past breakthrough became someone else’s lifeline.

Mark 11:24 (ESV) says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Growth is taking your faith and acting, seeing those things as if they were – healing, breakthroughs, miracles, financing, profit, open doors, open heavens. Call them out today.

This is my prayer for you.
